Theology · Women’s voices · Public witness
Rev. Dr. Nyambura Njoroge is a Kenyan theologian and ecumenical leader. The World Council of Churches records her as the first woman ordained in the Presbyterian Church of East Africa, in 1982, and as a recipient of a PhD in Christian ethics from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1992. Her work has connected faith with women’s dignity and responses to HIV and AIDS. Her Ssali books honour the women whose courage, leadership, and care have shaped communities.
